ORDER

Subject : Restoration of full Daily Allowance rates.

In supersession of this Ministry's Order of even number dated 1st December 2000 conveying reduced rates of Daily Allowance in pursuance of Ministry of Finance. Department of Expenditure's Office Memorandum No.7(4) E-Coord/2000 dated 24.9.2000 regarding guidelines on expenditure management, and enforcement of austerity measures, sanction of the President is hereby accorded to withdraw the 25% cut imposed on per diem allowance for journeys on duty abroad. The Daily Allowance rates in various countries / territories are given in the Annexure.

2. This order takes effect from September 21, 2010.

3. All other terms and conditions on Daily Allowance for journeys on duty abroad shall remain unchanged.

4. This issues with the concurrence of the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, vide their I.D. No.19053/1/2010-E.IV, dated 10th September, 2010, and Internal Finance Division of this Ministry vide Dy. No.1977/AS(FA)/10, dt. 15.9.2010.

Age restriction for availing LTC to son and daughter regarding...

What is the age of dependent son and daughter for LTC claim...? Is there any rule for unmarried dependent children are eligible to avail Leave Travel Concession or dependency is the only criteria..? Generally says that the female children are eligible upto marriage and male children are eligible upto age of twenty five. And one more view that the age limit for children in case of LTC should be same as for CGHS facility. According to the CCS (LTC) Rules, 1998, there is no indication of age, "Family" definition is given in the rule, "two surviving unmarried children wholly dependent on the Government servant, irrespective of whether they are residing with the Government servant or not". There is no age limit for availing LTC for the wholly dependent son or daughter.

Mini Bus Scheme in Tamil Nadu : The transport services provided by the Government to the public is increasing day by day. More than 18,000 buses are operated through out the State. These facilities are available in rural, semi-urban and urban areas. Apart from this public transport system, recognizing the need to provide public transport facilities to the people of unserved or inadequately served , semi-urban and rural areas, the Government introduced the " Mini-bus Services Scheme " to be operated by private individuals from 1997. Considering the benefits of this scheme ' Government modified this scheme in 1999 enabling operations of Mini Buses in the rural areas for a total distance of 20 kms, with an overlapping distance of 4 kms on the served sectors .
