When will the Finance Ministry’s Orders on the 10% DA Hike be Released?

When will the Finance Ministry’s Orders on the 10% DA Hike be Released? It is now known that the Cabinet Committee had, on 28.02.2014, given its approval to a 10% increase in the Dearness Allowance for Central Government employees and pensioners. Following this, the Finance Ministry usually issues orders to all the Ministries/Departments. No orders have been issued yet. The orders are expected before the end of this month. The orders are usually produced as “Payment of Dearness Allowance to Central Government Employees - Revised rates with effect from 01.01.2014”. The orders usually will begin as, the President is pleased to decide that the Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government employees shall be enhanced from the existing rate of 90% to 100% with effect from 1st January, 2014...” It will also be announced that the procedures published in the Finance Ministry’s orders issued on 29/08/2008 will be applicable this time too and that the enhanced amount will also be given as

Why 9:1 Ratio between maximum & minimum Salary/Pension being demanded by ‘BHARAT PENSIONERS SAMAJ’

Why 9:1 Ratio between maximum & minimum Salary/Pension being demanded by ‘BHARAT PENSIONERS SAMAJ’ Ironically in India where the poor are struggling to breath with just Rs  27.2 a day in rural areas and 33.3 in cities.  The net worth of the billionaire community increased 12-fold in 15 years, enough to eliminate absolute poverty in this country twice over. In a telling comment, the International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde warned that income inequality is increasing dangerously. Inequality is a sociological construct. Larger income/wealth Inequality breeds discontent, inefficiency, corruption & finally the revolt which is now creeping up   in the shape of Maoism & Naxalism. India can ignore this only at its own peril. What is worrying is that the monthly per capita consumption expenditure of the top 5% of the rural population is nearly nine times that of the bottom 5%. Where as In cities and towns, the average consumption by the top 5% of the populat

DA ARREARS CALCULATOR

DA ARREARS CALCULATOR FINANCE MINISTRY DA ORDER JAN 2014 -WHEN IT WILL COME-DA ARREARS CALCULATOR FINANCE MINISTRY DA ORDER JAN 2014 -WHEN IT WILL COME No one can deny the fact that DA is a very important allowance as of now. This applies to both state and central government employees. On the 28th of February 2014, 10 % DA increase was approved by the cabinet and then the announcement about the same came out. In the past, mostly, this announcement and the Finance Ministry order have come out in the month of March. Hardly, has this ever changed so far. So the finance ministry order on DA is expected to come soon.

EXPECTED DEARNESS ALLOWANCE FROM JULY 2014

EXPECTED DEARNESS ALLOWANCE FROM JULY 2014 This is the first thing that all Central and State Government employees alike would eagerly like to know! We are the first to calculate and write about ‘Expected DA’. We have been meticulously doing this task for the past five years. Without fail, we publish all the relevant information pertaining to DA, which is given twice every year (January 1, and July 1). It is our practice to calculate these numbers on the basis of certain indicators. Dearness Allowance is calculated entirely on the basis of price rise and inflation. Of utmost importance for the calculation is the AICPIN (All India Consumer Price Index). Labour Bureau, a Government agency releases these figures each month.

EXPECTED DA FROM JULY 2014 CALCULATOR

EXPECTED DA FROM JULY 2014 CALCULATOR We have been waiting eagerly for the announcement of 50% DA merger and interim relief for quite some time now, but still no announcement about it has come out! This is really disappointing. As you know, we got the 50% DA merger(5th paycommission) and interim relief(2nd to 4th paycommission) in the last pay commission to compensate for the increased commodity prices and economic burden. So our present expectation cannot be unreasonable. We only get our DA to manage the price rise of essential commodities. As of now it has reached 100% raise and some allowances are expected to rise only by 25%. When this is the case, calculating the DA rise in the coming July 2014 is somewhat difficult. As of now, the announcement of only one month’s AICPIN has come out. In the coming five months, we will get a complete picture of the AICPIN value. Only after that we can calculate the DA rise accurately.

6th CPC INTRODUCED NEW METHOD OF CALCULATION FOR INCREMENTS

6th CPC INTRODUCED NEW METHOD OF CALCULATION FOR INCREMENTS 6th CPC has the honour of introducing a number of new changes. Some of the most important changes introduced by the 6th CPC are GRADE PAY STRUCTURE, 3% INCREMENT, CHILDREN’S EDUCATION ALLOWANCE, and announcing July 1 as INCREMENT DAY FOR ALL. In addition, it also created new regulations to avoid smaller calculations – the method of “ROUNDED OFF TO THE NEXT MULTIPLE OF TEN.” Even as the 7th CPC is fast approaching, doubts about the Increment Calculation on the basis of the 6th CPC persists, especially about the “ROUNDED OFF TO THE NEXT MULTIPLE OF TEN” method. It is obvious that doubts persist.

Central employees awaiting next govt nod on DA merger

Central employees awaiting next govt nod on DA merger New Delhi: Central government employees are awaiting next government nod on merger of 50 percent dearness allowance to basic Pay in the view of model code of conduct. Family finances of government employees are being squeezed from all sides as inflation is rising at its fastest level in last four years. How can government employees cope with raising inflation besides merger of 50 percent dearness allowance (DA) to basic pay. High prices of day-to-day goods make it difficult for government employees to afford even the basic commodities in their lives.

REGULAR PROMOTION – MACP UPGRADATION – PAY FIXATION

REGULAR PROMOTION – MACP UPGRADATION – PAY FIXATION Recently, a reader’s query was published in Swamy’s News publication.  “After getting one promotion under ACP or MACP, and a subsequent regular promotion, will the employee qualify for another pay fixation?” This was the question’s summary.  An employee is given promotion under MACP only if he/she didn’t get any, under Regular Promotion. The pay is fixed based on 3% increment and Grade Pay difference. So, when regular promotion is given, the pay is revised only if there is a difference in the grade pay.

The Role of Government Employees In Lok Sabha Elections

The Role of Government Employees In Lok Sabha Elections We don’t have to be the ones to tell you what an important role Government employees play on the day of polling. One of the reasons for this importance is the practice of selecting only the state and Central Government employees for election duties, especially in the case of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections that are going to be held in multiple phases. One can say that it is impossible to hold elections without the assistance of state and Central Government employees. So crucial is their contribution. They are involved in election duties for months, either directly or indirectly. The crowning moment of these efforts are during the polling day when thousands of government employees are appointed at all the polling booths, on an average of at least 3 per booth.

Should the GRADE PAY STRUCTURE continue in the 7th CPC too?

Should the GRADE PAY STRUCTURE continue in the 7th CPC too? Once every 10 years, the Central Government revises the pay grades of its employees. It is common knowledge that the Cabinet had ordered the formation of the 7th CPC (CENTRAL PAY COMMISSION) and has also given its approval to the TERMS OF REFERENCE. The Central Government has, until now, constituted six CPCs. The 6th CPC has the distinction of having introduced the GRADE PAY STRUCTURE. Until then, there was only the PAY SCALE. It was the 6th CPC that changed it to PAY BAND, GRADE PAY and PAY IN THE PAY BAND. It was then said that the reconstitution was made to reduce the number of categories in the PAY SCALE. They also explained how GRADE PAY was calculated.
