Medical Emergency Conditions Included Under The Purview of CGHS Act CGHS Emergency Treatment List of Emergency Conditions The medical emergency conditions included under the purview of CGHS Act are enlisted below:

24 Hospitals That Refuse To Treat Central Government Employees under CGHS Scheme 24 hospitals that had refused to provide Cashless Treatment to Central Government employees under CGHS have been issued show cause notice and the empanelment of five hospitals has been suspended for a period of six months or till further orders, whichever is earlier.  A Press Statement was released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare today for the attention of the beneficiaries of CGHS. The report also cautions the employees against trusting false information that is being spread with malicious intentions, regarding Cashless Treatment in Empanelled Hospitals under Central Government Health Scheme. 

24 private hospitals refuse CGHS benefits The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has suspended empanelment and issued show cause notices to five hospitals for disregarding Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) cards. The empanelment of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute at Faidabad, Delhi Heart and Lung Institute, M.S. Ramaiah Memorial Institutes and Fortis Jaipur has been suspended for six months. Fortis group of hospitals, Moolchand, National Heart Institute, Narayana Hrudayalaya, KIMS and Yashodha Hospitals are among the 24 private hospitals that have decided to discontinue credit facilities to the eligible categories of CGHS beneficiaries.

No withdrawal of CGHS Cashless Scheme - Health Ministry There have been reports in the Media that private hospitals on the panel of CGHS are denying credit facilities to the eligible CGHS beneficiaries for delay in settlement of hospitals bills. No cashless CGHS treatment from February 1, 2014 Hyderabad: The 800 hospitals in the country empanelled under the Central Government Health Scheme will stop cashless transactions from February 1, 2014, because, they claim, the government has not cleared arrears of Rs 600 crore. The aggrieved hospitals have come together under the umbrella of the Association of Healthcare Providers India and had served notice to the CGHS office in New Delhi on December 13, 2013. A meeting with the Union health secretary K.N. Desiraju on January 9 yielded no results. A senior officer of AHPI said, “The amount has been budgeted in the health budget and it must be released. But it is not being done. Hence, the question is, where is it going?” Since 2010, the hospitals have been complaining of 40 per cent unauthorised deductions in the payments. Cashless treatment may be stopped for central government employees Corporate hospitals across the country have threatened to stop cashless treatment to lakhs of central government employees from January 1. Protesting against ‘unviable’ rates being given to them under the CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme), the Association of Healthcare Providers (India) has said that it will give three months time to the Government to revise the rates. “After that we will stop all cashless services at our hospitals. We will however continue to provide services on paying cash (at the hospital rates). They can seek reimbursement later,’’ the association leaders said. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, they said that the government should come out with a scientific method to arrive at proper packages for various treatments. Conveyance Allowance admissible to CGHS Doctors The doctors working in Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) are paid conveyance allowance for domiciliary visits and performing other official duties beyond office hours.
