Cashless treatment may be stopped for central government employees

Corporate hospitals across the country have threatened to stop cashless treatment to lakhs of central government employees from January 1.

Protesting against ‘unviable’ rates being given to them under the CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme), the Association of Healthcare Providers (India) has said that it will give three months time to the Government to revise the rates.

“After that we will stop all cashless services at our hospitals. We will however continue to provide services on paying cash (at the hospital rates). They can seek reimbursement later,’’ the association leaders said.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, they said that the government should come out with a scientific method to arrive at proper packages for various treatments.

Age restriction for availing LTC to son and daughter regarding...

What is the age of dependent son and daughter for LTC claim...? Is there any rule for unmarried dependent children are eligible to avail Leave Travel Concession or dependency is the only criteria..? Generally says that the female children are eligible upto marriage and male children are eligible upto age of twenty five. And one more view that the age limit for children in case of LTC should be same as for CGHS facility. According to the CCS (LTC) Rules, 1998, there is no indication of age, "Family" definition is given in the rule, "two surviving unmarried children wholly dependent on the Government servant, irrespective of whether they are residing with the Government servant or not". There is no age limit for availing LTC for the wholly dependent son or daughter.

Mini Bus Scheme in Tamil Nadu : The transport services provided by the Government to the public is increasing day by day. More than 18,000 buses are operated through out the State. These facilities are available in rural, semi-urban and urban areas. Apart from this public transport system, recognizing the need to provide public transport facilities to the people of unserved or inadequately served , semi-urban and rural areas, the Government introduced the " Mini-bus Services Scheme " to be operated by private individuals from 1997.
