Sub :- Issue of complimentary passes to the regular staff of NZRE CTC Society. Ref :- This office letter of even no. dated 27/9/2012. The issue was raised by AIRF in the PNM Meeting held in Jan, 2013. Subsequently, in the second meeting between the Federation and the official side on 14.6.2013, it was decided to re-examine the matter. “ Accordingly, the matter has been re-examined in consultation with Finance Directorate. A Coach of Tamilnadu Express Catches Fire Near Nellore Station in Andhra Pradesh 32 Dead and 25 Injured in the Accident There was an unfortunate incident of fire in train no. 12622 New Delhi-Chennai Tamilnadu Express at Nellore station (Andhra Pradesh) of Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway at about 0422 hours today i.e. 30th July 2012.   While the train was on run, fire broke out in Sleeper Class Coach S-11, positioned 20th from train engine.  As a result of the fire, this coach got completely burnt.  As per latest information received, 32 passengers lost their lives in this unfortunate incident, 25 passengers with burn injuries have been admitted to Government Hospital, Nellore and a nearby private hospital.  The dead bodies are yet to be identified. Cashless Service for RELHS Card Holder to take treatment in Recognized Private Hospitals in emergency. In an endeavour to alleviate the problems faced by the Sr. Citizens in getting treatment in emergency, a cashless service for RELHS card holders to take treatment in recognized private hospitals of National Capital Region was introduces by Northern Railway vide Board’s letter of even no. dated 29.02.2008 as a Pilot Project. The scheme was subsequently extended by one year each on two occasions i.e. up to 20.08.2011 vide Board’s letters of even no. dated 13.11.2009 and 27.01.2011. The issue of extension of the scheme or otherwise was under consideration in the Ministry of Railways for some time. Pension Pay Orders(PPO), CGHS Cards has now accepted as ‘Photo ID’ for Tatkal Booking Some of the permissible photo Id cards under the term "photo identity card having serial number issued by Central/State Government". Scope of the term "photo identity card having serial number issued by Central/State Government" permissible under the scheme is very wide and it covers a large number of photo identity cards, some of which are as under: . Pension Pay Orders(PPO) Ration Card with photographs Senior citizen cards Below Poverty (BPL) cards ESI cards (with photograph) issued for taking treatment in ESI dispensaries CGHS Cards (with photograph) issued to individual family members of Central Govt. employees.

Booking of Train Tickets – Advance reservation period is increased from 90 days to 120 days. Time limit for Advance Reservations to be increased from 90 days to 120 days.   With reference to the Railway Board Commercial Circular No. 12 of 2012, it has been decided to increase the advance reservation period from 90 days to 120 days on experimental basis (excluding the date of Journey) w.e.f. 10.03.2012. There will be no change in case of certain day time Express Trains like Taj Express, Gomti Express, etc. where lower time limits for advance reservations are at present in force. There will also be no change in case of the limit of 360 days for foreign tourists.

Revised timing for booking Tatkal Tickets from 19.7.2012 One more good decision taken by Railways… Due to avoid booking from agents and touts, the Indian Railways has now changed the booking timing for Tatkal tickets from 19th July, 2012. Indian Railways have been regularly monitoring the activities of the agents, touts. On a average of around 15 lakh train tickets are being sold through 8838 passenger reservation ticket counters and the e-ticketing website through IRCTC, out of which the Tatkal tickets constitutes around 1.70 lakh. As per the amendment in the Tatkal scheme, booking will start only at 10 A.M. instead of 8 A.M. For example, if a train is to depart from the originating station on the 2nd of the month, the Tatkal quota booking both through Internet (IRCTC Website) and reservation counters for that particular train shall open at 1000 hours on the 1st of the month.
