Pensioners Portal issued orders for Dearness Relief to Central Pensioners from 1.7.2013 Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare issued orders regarding Dearness Relief to Central Government pensioners. Following the Central Government hiked Dearness allowance to Central Government employees from 80% to 90%, now the Dearness Relief has also been hiked from the existing rate of 80% to 90% with effect from 1st July 2013 to all Central Government pensioners. The Government has decided to constitute a Committee, under the chairpersonship of Cabinet Secretary, to look into pay and pension related issues of relevance to defence services personnel and ex-servicemen. The other members of the Committee will be: (i) Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister (ii) Defence Secretary (iii) Secretary, D/o Expenditure (iv) Secretary, D/o Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare (v) Secretary, D/o Personnel and Training The Committee’s ‘terms of reference’ will be to look into the following issues relating to: (i) Defence services personnel: • Common pay-scale for in-service JCOs/ORs • Initial pay-fixation of Lt. Retirement on first month of Block years - LTC is permissible or not..?

Retirement on first month of Block years - LTC is permissible or not..? Yes, permissible. Employees are retiring from their service on the first month of block years, they will be eligible to avail LTC. The only condition is the return journey should be completed with in the date of retirement. For example, an employee will be retire on 31st January 2014. He will be eligible to avail LTC in the month of December 2013 to go with Home Town LTC or All India LTC and he will also be admitted to avail an another LTC in the month of January 2014. But he should be completed his returned journey before 31st January 2014.
