Central D.A. from Jan'13 : Still no news !!

Most surprisingly, there is still no news on cabinet approval or announcement of D.A. payable to Central Govt. employees and pensioners even on the third week of April.

F.M. is again on foreign tour and even if any cabinet meting takes place tomorrow, the chances of approval of D.A. stands remote in the absence of Finance Minister.

Earlier on 2nd April the decision was deferred due to the same reason. F.M. will return from his foreign trip on 22nd of this month and only after that the staff may find reason to cheer.

As everybody knows that D.A. from January 2013 is due @8% and probably this is the first time in the last 25 years the employees will get four months arrears this time instead of three as per common practice.

Age restriction for availing LTC to son and daughter regarding...

What is the age of dependent son and daughter for LTC claim...? Is there any rule for unmarried dependent children are eligible to avail Leave Travel Concession or dependency is the only criteria..? Generally says that the female children are eligible upto marriage and male children are eligible upto age of twenty five. And one more view that the age limit for children in case of LTC should be same as for CGHS facility. According to the CCS (LTC) Rules, 1998, there is no indication of age, "Family" definition is given in the rule, "two surviving unmarried children wholly dependent on the Government servant, irrespective of whether they are residing with the Government servant or not". There is no age limit for availing LTC for the wholly dependent son or daughter.

Mini Bus Scheme in Tamil Nadu : The transport services provided by the Government to the public is increasing day by day. More than 18,000 buses are operated through out the State. These facilities are available in rural, semi-urban and urban areas. Apart from this public transport system, recognizing the need to provide public transport facilities to the people of unserved or inadequately served , semi-urban and rural areas, the Government introduced the " Mini-bus Services Scheme " to be operated by private individuals from 1997. Considering the benefits of this scheme ' Government modified this scheme in 1999 enabling operations of Mini Buses in the rural areas for a total distance of 20 kms, with an overlapping distance of 4 kms on the served sectors .
