Walk in Interview for Apprentices for the year 2012-13

Defence Scientific Information & Documentation Centre (DESIDOC) under the aegis of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence will hold walk-in interview for recruitment of apprentices for one year training in the following disciplines.

(a)Degree in Library & Information Science        08                  06 August 2012
(b)Diploma in Library Science  (Two Years)       06                  07 August 2012
(c)Degree in Computer Science (B.Tech only)    06                  08 August 2012

The stipend rates for Degree holder Rs.3560/- (fixed) per month and for Diploma holders (2/3years) Rs.2530/-(fixed) per month will be paid as per latest Govt. Rules. The walk in Interview will be held  at 9.00AM at DESIDOC. The Candidates who have  obtained less than 60% marks in their final exams and passed out before the year 2010  will not be considered for apprenticeship. The candidates should bring their Bio-Data giving complete personal details, qualification and experience etc. and two passport size photographs.The candidates are required  to bring all original documents along with attested photocopies of all the certificates for verification.

It shall not be obligatory on the part of the DRDO/Lab/Estt, where training is   imparted to offer any employment to any apprentice after completing the period of his
apprenticeship training.

Please also note that candidates who have already got apprenticeship training in any other institute are not eligible.

No TA/DA will be paid for interview and mobile phone is not allowed in the premises.

Age restriction for availing LTC to son and daughter regarding...

What is the age of dependent son and daughter for LTC claim...? Is there any rule for unmarried dependent children are eligible to avail Leave Travel Concession or dependency is the only criteria..? Generally says that the female children are eligible upto marriage and male children are eligible upto age of twenty five. And one more view that the age limit for children in case of LTC should be same as for CGHS facility. According to the CCS (LTC) Rules, 1998, there is no indication of age, "Family" definition is given in the rule, "two surviving unmarried children wholly dependent on the Government servant, irrespective of whether they are residing with the Government servant or not". There is no age limit for availing LTC for the wholly dependent son or daughter.

Mini Bus Scheme in Tamil Nadu : The transport services provided by the Government to the public is increasing day by day. More than 18,000 buses are operated through out the State. These facilities are available in rural, semi-urban and urban areas. Apart from this public transport system, recognizing the need to provide public transport facilities to the people of unserved or inadequately served , semi-urban and rural areas, the Government introduced the " Mini-bus Services Scheme " to be operated by private individuals from 1997. Considering the benefits of this scheme ' Government modified this scheme in 1999 enabling operations of Mini Buses in the rural areas for a total distance of 20 kms, with an overlapping distance of 4 kms on the served sectors .
