SR Provides Special Trains – Temporary of Augmentation of Trains - Extension of Trains

SPECIAL TRAINS

The following special trains will be run to clear the extra rush of passengers .

Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Central – Thiruvananthapuram Weekly Specials: T.No.06312 Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Central Special will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 20.05 hrs. o­n Wednesdays from 02.10.2013 to 22.01.2014 and arrive Chennai Central at 13.15 hrs. o­n Thursdays.

T.No.06311 Chennai Central – Thiruvananthapuram Special will leave Chennai Central at 18.15 hrs. o­n Thursdays from 03.10.2013 to 23.01.2014 and arrive Thiruvananthapuram at 11.45 hrs. o­n Fridays.

The composition of the trains will be 2 AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 11 Sleeper Class, 2 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The trains will stop at Kollam, Kayankulam, Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Kottayam, Ernakulam town, Aluva, Thrisur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi and Arakkonam. Train No.06312 will stop at Perambur also.

Advance reservation for the above trains will commence o­n 29.09.2013

EXTENSION OF TRAINS

Train No.12507/12508 Ernakulam – Guwahati – Ernakulam (weekly) Express trains have been extended to run from/upto Thiruvananthapuram (via. Kottayam).

The first extended service of Train No.12507 will leave Thiruvananthapuram o­n 01.10.2013. The first extended service of Train No.12508 will leave Guwahati o­n 04.10.2013.

Train No.12507 Thiruvananthapuram – Guwahati weekly express will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 17.00 hrs. o­n Tuesdays, leave Chennai Central at 10.00 hrs. o­n Wednesdays and arrive Guwahati at 07.55 hrs. o­n Fridays.

Train No.12508 Guwahati - Thiruvananthapuram weekly express will leave Guwahati at 06.30 hrs. o­n Fridays, leave Chennai Central at 04.40 hrs. o­n Sundays and arrive Thiruvananthapuram at 22.30 hrs. o­n Sundays.

Between Thiruvananthapuram – Ernakulam Town, the extended portion, the trains will stop at Kollam, Kayankulam, Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla and Kottayam.

TEMPORARY AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS

Train No.12631/12632 Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli – Chennai Egmore Nellai express trains have been temporarily augmented by 1 AC-3 tier coach from 30.07.2013 to 30.09.2013. This augmentation will continue upto 20.01.2014 to clear the extra rush of passengers during Puja, Deepavali and Winter holidays.

Age restriction for availing LTC to son and daughter regarding...

What is the age of dependent son and daughter for LTC claim...? Is there any rule for unmarried dependent children are eligible to avail Leave Travel Concession or dependency is the only criteria..? Generally says that the female children are eligible upto marriage and male children are eligible upto age of twenty five. And one more view that the age limit for children in case of LTC should be same as for CGHS facility. According to the CCS (LTC) Rules, 1998, there is no indication of age, "Family" definition is given in the rule, "two surviving unmarried children wholly dependent on the Government servant, irrespective of whether they are residing with the Government servant or not". There is no age limit for availing LTC for the wholly dependent son or daughter.

Mini Bus Scheme in Tamil Nadu : The transport services provided by the Government to the public is increasing day by day. More than 18,000 buses are operated through out the State. These facilities are available in rural, semi-urban and urban areas. Apart from this public transport system, recognizing the need to provide public transport facilities to the people of unserved or inadequately served , semi-urban and rural areas, the Government introduced the " Mini-bus Services Scheme " to be operated by private individuals from 1997. Considering the benefits of this scheme ' Government modified this scheme in 1999 enabling operations of Mini Buses in the rural areas for a total distance of 20 kms, with an overlapping distance of 4 kms on the served sectors .
