Dear Sirs,

Strike Notice by UFBU on 20th and 21st January 2014 - Deferred

Please refer to our Circular No.CIR/HR&IR/Q/2013-14/8576 dated 3rd January 2014 regarding the strike call given by the United Forum of Bank Employees (UFBU) on 20th and 21st January 2014.  In accordance with the submission in conciliation meeting held on 13.1.2014, we had convened meeting with the Unions/Associations on date. On being satisfied with the further improvement in offer in wage hike by IBA, the UFBU has decided to defer the strike schedule on 20th & 21st January 2014. 

Member banks may kindly take note of the above and convey suitably to all their establishments.

Age restriction for availing LTC to son and daughter regarding...

What is the age of dependent son and daughter for LTC claim...? Is there any rule for unmarried dependent children are eligible to avail Leave Travel Concession or dependency is the only criteria..? Generally says that the female children are eligible upto marriage and male children are eligible upto age of twenty five. And one more view that the age limit for children in case of LTC should be same as for CGHS facility. According to the CCS (LTC) Rules, 1998, there is no indication of age, "Family" definition is given in the rule, "two surviving unmarried children wholly dependent on the Government servant, irrespective of whether they are residing with the Government servant or not". There is no age limit for availing LTC for the wholly dependent son or daughter.

Mini Bus Scheme in Tamil Nadu : The transport services provided by the Government to the public is increasing day by day. More than 18,000 buses are operated through out the State. These facilities are available in rural, semi-urban and urban areas. Apart from this public transport system, recognizing the need to provide public transport facilities to the people of unserved or inadequately served , semi-urban and rural areas, the Government introduced the " Mini-bus Services Scheme " to be operated by private individuals from 1997. Considering the benefits of this scheme ' Government modified this scheme in 1999 enabling operations of Mini Buses in the rural areas for a total distance of 20 kms, with an overlapping distance of 4 kms on the served sectors . This modified scheme has been challenged before the Court of Law and Government is taking appropriate steps to have the matter sorted out. Presently 3959 mini buses are plying in Tamilnadu.
